Greystone College business program invites business guests for a networking event at the end of each course. Mr. Wilfred Baranoik, a consultant with Westrand Consulting, explained the history and benefits of the Canadian Institute of Management (CIM) and shared his personal experience, having been an active member and CIM leader for over two decades.
Students found out that CIM provides a formal recognition of their academic and experiential status. It offers a benchmark of management achievements based on specific requirements. There is an opportunity for our students to get the 1st level of Certificate in Supervisory Management after successful completion of mandatory disciplines.
Mr. Baranoik’s visit was also a joyful occasion as our own director, Grace Pyo, received her P. Mgr. (Professional Manager) designation. This certification identifies individuals from various specialty disciplines who meet an established set of criteria reflecting high standards of professional integrity, work performance and recognition.

So if you are one of our former business students and you completed all required courses (Introduction to Management, Business Law, Organizational Behaviour and Managerial Communications) you are eligible to apply for CIM Certificate in Supervisory Management.
This quarter, there were 13 new CIM members in British Columbia and Yukon province. Ten of them are former Greystone College students! The Certificate in Supervisory Management is a considerable step in their professional development. It provides the recognition of their training that they can build on throughout the following years of future management career .
