Montreal students

Have you always wondered what it would be like to work in international business, and connect with people from around the world?  You can develop new skills and follow your passion by taking the Attestation of College Studies (ACS) in International Business Management at Greystone College !

Our new program will help you build practical skills, knowledge, and experience in International Business Management, and make you an asset to global companies. We offer lots of extra support for you to make the most of your learning experience. Here’s what you’ll get in our program:

1) New knowledge and transferable soft skills.

The ACS in International Business Management program covers a wide range of important, and current course topics for achieving success in global business environments in industries like transportation, travel, e-commerce, import and export and more.

You’ll learn about business laws that apply in international contexts, and what costs and requirements are involved in importing and exporting goods. You’ll also develop the ability to negotiate with international clients, vendors, and business partners, a critical soft skill that will support you in your practicum, and help you impress employers. And you’ll gain skills for gathering and analysing data in order to create smart business strategies.

All of this knowledge will prepare you for your future career.

2) Passionate and knowledgeable teachers.

All of our program instructors have local (Quebec), national, and international industry experience. They will help you understand our curriculum through real-world examples based on their own qualifications and business experience.

If you have any questions, just ask. Our motivated and dynamic instructors are here to help you learn and grow!

3) Hands-on experience in the classroom.

You won’t just learn through lectures, you’ll put new knowledge into practise by working with other students to research, develop, and give presentations, participate in projects, and get involved in classroom discussions on global topics.

With a diverse mix of students in the classroom, you’ll get the opportunity to learn from each other and share knowledge about business culture in your own country.  You’ll be developing intercultural communication skills, right from day one!

Students will also complete a capstone project, doing data analysis and research, and working with a team to develop an international business strategy.

4) The opportunity to work off campus.

In this 36-week program, international students are eligible to receive permission to work off campus with their study visa.  Students will be able to work up to 20 hours per week during the course, and during the practicum, and their work can be in any field, from customer service, to hospitality, or even something related to international business!  Working off campus will help you supplement your study costs, but more importantly it will add current Canadian experience and references to your resume, which will really help you when it’s time to secure your practicum.

Our helpful advisors provide a range of services to help you prepare for finding off-campus work as soon as you settle in and start your studies.

At the end of the ACS in International Business Management program, you will be eligible to apply for a 36-week Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP). If the PGWP is granted, you’ll have a chance to continue working, learn more about Canadian work culture, and keep practicing your international business skills.

5) Supported practicum experience.

The program includes a four-week, unpaid practicum in an international business environment to help you apply your learning on the job, get references for your resume, and learn about the Canadian business culture, first-hand.

To get you ready for your practicum, Greystone College Montréal’s advisors will work with you through a tailored course, and in one-on-one sessions to help you develop your resume, get interview experience, and learn skills for the workplace.

7) Accommodations and Activities

If you need assistance finding a place to stay, we’re here to help! Greystone College Montréal can help you organize a student apartment, or homestay accommodation.  Homestay is a great chance to learn more about the culture of the city, and improve your language and intercultural communication skills by staying with a local family.

If you want even more opportunities to connect with other students, explore the city and get involved in the community, you can talk to our activities department.  We offer ongoing activities with other international students, as well as volunteer opportunities which can add to your resume, and help you build career networks.

We’re confident that all of the support, learning, and practical experience you’ll get in our ACS in International Business Management program will help you develop a strong foundation for fulfilling your future career and education dreams. Our first program starts October 1st, 2018!
